Bass Lake Estate is located 45 minutes south of Sandton, and the lake itself consists of 10 hectares of spring-fed water, and is the best scuba diving venue in South Africa. Other activities include 4×4 self drive trails and training courses.
Bass Lake Adventures Accommodation:
- Makhulu Maghodi Lodge Camp offers two styles of accommodation:
- A-Frame Units (3.5m x 3m, 4 two-sleeper units, sleeping 8 guests)
- Bow Tents (2.5m x 2.5m , 6 two-sleeper units, sleeping 12 guests)
- Two styles of Backpacker Units (sleeping 20 in total).
- Also Luxury Lodge Units, 5 units, sleeping a total of 10 adults and 2 children.
- 1 Unit – en-suite bathroom with victorian bath, sleeping 2 guests.
- 1 Family Unit – en-suite bathroom with shower, sleeping 2 adults and 2 children.
- 3 Units – private bathrooms, with showers, sleeping 2 guests each.

Bass Lake Adventures Resort is situated on an estate of 75 hectare, about 45 minutes drive south of Sandton. The resort caters for Individuals, Families, Corporate Days and Team Building activities.
The resort specialises in adventure activities, which include 4×4 trails, mountain biking, hiking, archery and boating, and they provide a great Scuba Diving Centre and venue.
Bass Lake Adventures 4×4 Trails:
- Full Day 4×4 Training – both the introductory (or level 1) & intermediate (or level 2) course.
- Half Day 4×4 Course – half day, level 1 course comprises an introductory course.
- Self Drive 4×4 Trail - 4×4 trail is open for self driving, 7 days per week, except in the case of heavy rain, when the track is closed.
- Ride and Drive Days.
