Karoo Adventures offers the Wagon Wheel 4×4 Trails that used to be old Mule Wagon Routes to Touwsriver and Montagu. The trail is about 35km long and consists of a mountain section and a Karoo section.
Karoo Adventures Wagon Wheels 4×4 Trails:
- Mountain Section – starts with Plooiberg, a 3 grading, or the Bergroete, a 2 grading.
- Karoo – 2/3 grading, one challenging part, the Witkruisarend route, with escape routes.
- Chicken Run – 4 grading, a short course to test your skills.
- Ratel Trail – 4/5 grading, steep and sometimes very narrow sections, diff-locks are recommended.
- Winter Trek Route – situated on the farm Zoutrivier, ideal for people who appreciate the nature aspect of 4×4 routes, suitable for softroaders and 4×2 vehicles with a diff-lock.

Min Water Eco Adventures offers four exciting 4×4 trails that caters for all levels of experience. The full distance of the 4 x 4 trails is about 30km (6-8 hours).
Min Water Eco Adventures 4×4 Trails:
- Four Trails – Rooiberg (grading 2), Steenbokrant (grading 3), Sandberg (grading 4), and the Kloof trail (grading 4/5).
- Grading 1 – very easy, suitable for inexperienced drivers in 4×4′s without low range, and 4×2′s with diff lock.
- Grading 2 – easy to moderate, some experience and a 4×4 vehicle recommended.
- Grading 3 – moderate, experience and low range recommended.
- Grading 4 – difficult, experience and low range imperative, recovery equipment and diff lock recommended.
- Grading 5 – very difficult, need experience, serious 4×4 and recovery equipment imperative, diff locks strongly recommended.
